North Brother Island is the beautiful island located in between the Bronx and Riker’s Island, and  South Brother Island situated at just far of North Brother Island.

There you will find a hospital of  Smallpox treatment which was build at 1880 called Riverside Hospital but now famously known as Roosevelt Island because it build at the island region.The hospital is treated many in the time for the disease there after the hospital has become famous in treating many other small diseases.Typhoid Mary was only to take care of the hospital after her death in 1938, the hospital was forced to close.

After World War II, the island bacme a shelter for many folks and all including students at local colleges, and their families.The island has got the chance to treatment of many especially for drug users.Before this center started the islan once agian closed.

The facility claimed to be the first to offer treatment, rehabilitation, and education facilities to young drug offenders. By the early 1960s widespread staff corruption and patient recidivism forced the facility to close.The island was also the site of the wreck of the General Slocum which burned on June 15, 1904. Over 1,000 people died either from the fire onboard the ship or from drowning before the ship was beached on the island’s shores.

The island is best suitable for the the Black-crowned Night Heron’s has got lot of  nests in the forest and also many other pieces.Combination os two islands can get (Brother Islands, North and South) have a land area of 20.12 acres (81,400 m2).
