Shiloh Pepin is a girl was born in Kennebunkport, Maine in August, 1999 who is suffering from Mermaid Syndr
ome or Sirenomelia. The girl is said to be very great because most fail to survive hours after birth while her kidney had been transplant in 2007. Sirenomelia is occured when the lower body doesn’t develop correctly as a fetus resulting in the two limbs attached. I other words Mermaid can be said as (A mermaid is a mythological aquatic creature with a human head and torso and the tail of an aquatic animal such as a fish or dolphin).
Here in this case the girl also suffering with her attached legs. The syndrome is a congenital deformity where your legs grow together appearing like a tail of a mermaid.
The condition only occurs in one of every 100,000 births, with persons passing within 48 hours of birth. Shiloh is the only one of the three survivors of Sirenomelia without surgery for separation of the conjoined legs, currentlyshe is studying in a local school.

It’s kinda disapointing how we thought mermaids were beautiful maidens with skinny bodies and long flowing hair and all of thought plus the addition of scales. And all it really is the whole time was just this….so does that mean dragons are just giant deformed lizards with the mutation of what appears to be wings? What mythical creature do we have to discover next?
You are shallow…She is soooo beautiful and stronger than most. I feel faint while I am observing the strength of spirit eminating from her!
Rest in peace Shiloh. I read where she spent her last week in the hospital in critical condition. She died Friday, 23 October 2009
She is precious! What an awe-inspiring little doll she is. We can all learn something from this little angel!
She was so sweet. I feel sadness in her passing.
God will take good care of her.
R.I.P. Shiloh
