Project Runway season 6 premiered on Lifetime on thursday. The two-hour All-Star Challenge starts at 8, and it’s kind of like what Top Chef Masters has been, but for Runway: Daniel V., Santino, Uli, Jeffrey Sebelia, Mychael Knight, Chris March, Sweet P and Korto will compete for $100,000. But it’s not for charity like TCM was, so I guess it’s also a lot like Dancing with the Stars. Anyway, I hope Daniel V. mops the floor with Jeffrey, obviously. Oh, and Nicole Kidman is on hand, but who gives a shit about Nicole Kidman anymore? Moving on.
Then the Project Runway premiere at 10, with Tim Gunn, Heidi, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia (but who gives a shit about Nina Garcia anymore? OK, I’ll stop) all back in their positions, and by all accounts it looks like the show will be just as awesome as it’s always been, even though it’s on a crap network and set in gross L.A. now. It’s gotta be better than The Fashion Show was, anyway.
And at 11, we get the half-hour show about the Runway models, but I honestly can’t think of anything I want to watch less than a show about the Project Runway models, but that could just be me. Modeling shows aren’t my thing. It’s the stupidest profession in the world! Maybe even stupider than blogging! (Just kidding. I know nothing’s stupider than blogging.)
The competitors were:
* Daniel Vosovic, Season 2
* Santino Rice, Season 2
* Jeffrey Seblia, Season 3
* Uli Herzner, Season 3
* Mychael Knight, Season 3
* Chris March, Season 4
* Sweet P, Season 4
* Korto Momolu, Season 5
Daniel Vosovic, who finished second in the second season, won the challenge and the $100,000 prize.
After the challenge, Season 6 had its Lifetime-debut.  There are 16 new designers:

2. Ari Fish, Age 26 (eliminated tonight)
3. Carol Hannah Whitfield, Age 24

Project Runway judges got it horribly wrong when they selected Daniel Vosovic’s collection as the winner of the All-Star Challenge. The four designs he presented on the runway were a mediocre and at times, a horrendous concoction of blue and white t-shirts and pants.
Daniel Vosovic’s recently published book, Fashion Inside Out: Daniel V’s Guide to How Style Happens from Inspiration to Runway and Beyond, includes advice from Tim Gunn, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Diane Von Furstenberg.
All four were judges in the All-Star edition of Project Runway and rumors are beginning to circulate as to whether the decision to select Vosovic was pre-determined.
“It was clear when the show started that Daniel knew that he was going to win. Tim Gunn has always loved him, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some kind of deal that guranteed that he win,” writes Crissij, a commenter on the official Project Runway Web site:
Another commenter writes, “Are these judges blind? Daniel had the most horrendous collection I have ever seen in my life! I don’t think that any woman would ever wear those hideous clothes he vomited.”
The stand out of the evening was Uli Herzner, whose stunning dresses in pinks and nudes with ruffled trims were reminiscent of Alexander McQueen.
Chris March was the notable exception to the poor selection of designs that the judges chose to include in the top group. His collection, which included grey and plaid mini-dresses, was chic, mod and haute couture. March broke out into tears several times, humbled to be chosen to be in the top group of designers.
After praising him for his inspired designs, the judges shamefully eliminated him first. What were they thinking?
Project Runway All-Star edition did not make it work.
