Solheim Cup 2009 – Score and Schedule

Solheim Cup 2009 started on Friday as Europe travel to America to try and win back the the trophy from the United States. On the first day on 21 August USA takes lead in the Lpga at the Rich Harvest Farms.

Alison Nicholas is leading the European team who start the match at Rich Harvest Farms, Sugar Grove in Illinois as huge underdogs. Under the leadership of Beth Daniel the US side are widely expected to retain the trophy that they won in convincing style in Sweden two years ago.

Results on 21st August

On first day Paula Creamer’s 25-footer gave the United States a 4 1/2 -3 1/2 lead after the first day of the Solheim Cup in Sugar Grove, Ill. Creamer, paired with Juli Inkster, beat Catriona Matthew and Janice Moodie 2 and 1. The win made Inkster the highest-scoring U.S. player in the event’s history, with 17 1/2 points.
