Bernie Madoff Cancer reports not true – say prison officials

Bernie Madoff Cancer reports are not true according to prison officials. It may be noted that today morning NY Post declared that Bernie Madoff had cancer with headlines – “Bernie’s Cancer Cell: Madoff Dying– Unless He Can Cheat Death, Too”.

“While the NY Post story is full of inaccuracies, and we can’t specifically address all of them, we can tell you that Bernie Madoff is not terminally ill, and has not been diagnosed with cancer.” – US Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman

Madoff pleaded guilty for doing the Ponzi scheme, and claimed sole responsibility and he has been sentenced in prison for 150 years. This started some rumors that he had cancer before he entered prison. There were speculation on why Madoff took the entire blame for the scheme and so started the rumors of his suffering from pancreatic cancer.

The Post reported that Madoff had been telling other inmates he was dying: “He’s been taking about 20 pills a day for his cancer… He talks about it all the time. He’s not doing very well.” Say an inmate
