Dirty Diaries is a collection of 12 short pornog raphic films, shot by director Mia Engberg. What is so unique about the fils is that it has received 500,000 Sweden kronor (69,000 dollars, 48,000 euros) in public funds from the Swedish Film Institute. May be for the first time in history po rn movie funded by taxpayers. The other unique aspect about these fils is what makes Dirty Diaries feminist is that it displays women’s sexuality in a natural way and shuns what she perceives as mainstream po rn’s tendency to treat women as objects. It’s about showing sexuality through a female’s perspective

Dirty Diaries is set for its premiere in the Swedish capital of Stockholm on Thursday night. Clips from the films appear on Engberg’s website for viewing and download at, carrying titles such as “Flasher Girl On Tour” and “On Your Back Woman.”

The film has sparked a debate as to whether tax payers money should be used to fund such projects or not. Just because it is feminist – does it justifies?
