Space Shuttle to land at Edwards air force base location in los angeles today : sonic boom in los angeles

Space Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to land at Edwards Air Force Base out in Mojave, instead of KSC in Florida (due to sketchy weather back east). Southern California readers can expect a large sonic boom between 0530-0555pm PDT this evening. Some may even mistake it for an earthquake.

The mission to deliver supplies and equipment to the International Space Station lasted 2 weeks and spanned 5.7 million miles.

Now they are back with a (Sonic) Boom!
