French air traffic controllers strike at Orly airport – Orly Airport, south of Paris, a nationwide strike by air traffic controllers grounded hundreds of flights on Tuesday.Traffic controller have gone on strike, forcing the delay or outright cancellation of hundreds of flights and leaving thousands of would-be passengers on the ground.France ‘s civil aviation agency has ordered airlines to run only half of the flights in and out of Paris’s Orly airport and one in four at Charles de Gaulle airport near Paris, amid staffing shortages caused by the walkout.Five unions of air traffic controllers called the 4day strike to protest conditions of plans to integrate European air traffic control.Union leaders are hoping to get favour from President Nicolas Sarkozy.Flights are cancelled at the two main Paris airports. According to thr latest reports,French air traffic controllers went on strike today just as pilots at German flagship carrier Lufthansa agreed to suspend a strike until next month.
