Google homepage logo name change has been replaced with Topeka on April fools day.In March, the mayor of Topeka, Kansas annouced his city would be renamed Google, Kansas” for a month — hoping the stunt would convince Google to pick his city to test out an ultra-fast Internet network. In a joke press release Google says it’s adopted the Topeka name and employees, known as Googlers, should now be called “Topekers” or “Topekans.”The change is purportedly a return gesture to Topeka, Kanasas, whose mayor unofficially renamed the city “Google, Kansas,” for the month of March in an effort to land a spot on Google’s “Fiber for Communities” program. Topeka is an Indian word which means ‘a good place to grow potatoes,’ Topeka mayor Bill Bunten told CNN in early March. Topeka mayor Bill Bunten told that they’re not going to change that.
