Lufthansa Flight Status – Ash cloud over Europe – Frankfurt airport closed, German flagship airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.XE) has cancelled all flights to and from Brussels and Amsterdam because these airports will be closed since they are full, Lufthansa spokesman Peter Schneckenleitner said Thursday.LufthansaFlightStatus reports most of the UK flights remained on ground for a second day while the volcanic ash is hurling in atmosphere. The cloud of volcanic ash is drifting towards south in the Europe and almost all the German and French airports are closed for at least two days. In Germany, the Frankfurt airport and ten others including Lufthansa Canada, Lufthansa India, Munich airport, Hamburg Airport and Heathrow airport have temporarily halted flight operations due to ash clouds.France and Poland are also facing the same situation.Eurocontrol has added that it feared cancellation of around 17000 flights on Friday only.
