, History back to date in 1777-Celebrate Flag Day by proudly flying Old Glory, which is far more than just the cloth that makes up its 13 red-and-white stripes, 50 white stars and field of blue.

Veterans and scouts gathered to pay tribute to US flag on this day “FLAG DAY”Matthew Fox, an Eagle Scout from Troop 10 in Tallahassee, represented a different generation, but he shares the same pride.The flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777.

In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress. Perhaps the oldest continuing FlagDay parade is at Fairfield WA (scroll down to list at #4). Beginning in 1909 or 1910, Fairfield has held a parade every year since, with the possible exception of 1918, and will celebrate the “Centennial” parade in 2010, along with some other commemorative events.
