China Central Television reported Tuesday that some vehicles had been stuck for five days. China Traffic Jam began on August 14th due to a spike in cargo traffic that was headed towards the capital, and the problem has been made worse by a construction project on the roadway that began five days later. Officials have considered postponing the construction project in an effort to alleviate the traffic problems heading into the city. The congestion is expected to last for almost a month, since the construction is due for completion September 13. China’s traffic jam has now reached its tenth day with a 60 mile long.
