ValentinaNafornita has won the prestigious BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition. Valentina Nafornita steals the show in Sunday night’s final, winning both the 15,000-pound ($24,200) Singer of the World prize and the 2,000-pound audience prize voted by people at the concerts and watching on television. She beats all other finalists that include Olesysa Petrova of Russia, Andrei Bondarenko from Ukraine, Hye Jung Lee from South Korea and Meeta Raval from Britain. The BBC Singer of the World Competition is held every other year.

The Gibson Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar that was first sold in 1952. The Les Paul was designed by Ted McCarty in collaboration with popular guitarist Les Paul, whom Gibson enlisted to endorse the new model. Singer had been recovering from two massive strokes he suffered over the past years.Nathaniel Dwayne Hale (August 19, 1969 – March 15, 2011), better known by his stage name Nate Dogg, was an American musician.After a number of delays and an original release date of April 2004, his self-titled album Nate Dogg was released on Affiliated Entertainment Group on June 3, 2008. Dogg was undergoing physical therapy in an attempt to return to some normality, but it was unclear whether Dogg would be able to resume his singing career. Nate Dogg died on March 15, 2011 in Long Beach, California.

According to the latest Buzz, British hard rock band The Darkness is rebuilding after a five-year break to perform at the Download festival on June 10 as the warm-up act for Def Leppard, they announced on their website on Tuesday. The re-formed band will include Justin Hawkins, Dan Hawkins, Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham. Also announced for the Download festival, staged at Donington Park from June 10-12, are Alice Cooper, Linkin Park and System of a Down.

The reporter Serene Branson was in distress as she found that she is having an stroke. The disturbing video of Serene Branson’s was shared and uploaded on Youtube by a number of users and was termed as “Reporter Stroke”. Most of the Reporter Stroke video were later removed by CBS citing copyright (like the one below).

According to her CBS colleagues Serene Branson was examined by paramedics on scene immediately after her broadcast and her vital signs were normal. She was not hospitalized. As a precautionary measure, a colleague gave her a ride home and she says that she is feeling fine this morning.

Marvin Sease (February 16, 1946 – February 8, 2011) was an American blues/soul singer known for his racy lyrics. Born in Blackville, South Carolina, Sease started as a gospel artist, joining a gospel group called the Five Gospel Crowns located in Charleston, South Carolina.

At this young age settling into New York, he then joined another gospel group called the Gospel Crowns. Having the deep preference for the musical style of R&B, Marvin left the gospel circuit to form his own R&B group. In this group Sease was accompanied by his own three brothers and named the backing band Sease. This band did not find popularity and eventually broke up. He did not quit performing musically, but began to cover songs that started a career with a recurring gig at the Brooklyn club Casablanca. Sease, however, desired his own success singing his own music and greater artistic freedom.
