Jigme K. Norbu, 45 had begun walk on leg of a 300-mile walk to promote Tibetan independence from China, the Dalai Lama’s nephew was struck and killed by an SUV along a dark Florida coastal highway, when he was just about a planning to rest for the evening.According to the latest updates The driver, 31-year-old Keith R. O’Dell of Palm Coast was not charged. He and his 5-year-old son in the SUV were not injured. Dalai Lama’s nephew had started the trip with friends Monday heading from St. Augustine to West Palm Beach.

The move puts the former pope a step closer to sainthood on what is already an unusually accelerated timetable that Benedict launched within weeks of John Paul’s death almost six years ago.

The Vatican said Benedict had approved findings by the church that John Paul had performed a miracle after his death, a prerequisite for beatification. A nun who suffered from Parkinson’s disease, as did the late pope, said she was healed of her affliction after praying to John Paul soon after he died.

The beatification is to take place May 1, the first Sunday after Easter, the Vatican said.

The decision to elevate John Paul, who inspired millions worldwide with his tough stance against communism and his resilience after a 1981 assassination attempt, is a spot of good news for the Roman Catholic Church, which has been battered by countless allegations of sexual abuse by priests, nuns and other religious workers.

Many of those acts of abuse were alleged to have occurred during John Paul’s 27-year papacy. But much of the blame for the church’s slow and largely defensive response to the complaints has now shifted to today’s Vatican.

After John Paul’s death on April 2, 2005, mourners and pilgrims at his funeral in St. Peter’s Square waved signs calling for “sainthood right now,” in a mark of their devotion. Weeks later, Benedict said he would immediately open the process leading to canonization, overriding rules that dictate a five-year wait after a person dies.

At the end of 2009, Benedict gave formal recognition of John Paul’s “heroic virtues” and granted him the title of “venerable.” After his beatification, the late pontiff will be known as “blessed.”

For sainthood, a second confirmed miracle is required.

Reports surfaced last year that at least some church investigators were doubtful of claims by Sister Marie Simon-Pierre, a French nun, to have been cured of Parkinson’s through John Paul’s intercession.

But the panel overseeing such investigations concluded that the nun’s recovery from the degenerative disease had no other explanation _ in other words, that it was a genuine miracle.

Astronomer Parke Kunkle says that due to changes in the Earth’s alignment the dates of many zodiac signs have changed, according to NBC. In addition, there may be a 13th Zodiac sign: Ophiuchus.

Kunkle says that as the Earth and Sun slowly move the signs gradually change, as expected.

The change didn’t happen over night either. The 12 signs were designated to different periods of the year almost 3,000 years ago, when astrology began, and since then the Earth’s position in relation to the sun has changed.

While the sign many people were born under may now be different, it shouldn’t affect horoscope readings, according to NBC.

In 2011, the date of Makar Sankranti is January 14. (Note – In Marathi Calendars and calendars followed in eastern parts of India,  Makar Sankranti is marked on January 15.) Auspicious time of Sankranti in all regions in India is on January 15 from sunrise. The Makar Sankranti is marked on January 14 because the transition of moon in Makar Rashi takes place at 12:45 PM on the night of January 14.

Makar Sankranti is the day when the sun enters into the zodiac Capricorn or Makara. The best way to start the day is by reciting the Gayatri Mantra. It is believed that Lord Surya visits his son Lord Shani on this day, irrespective of their difference in opinions. Therefore many people make it a point to visit their sons and buy them gifts. The Immaculate Conception of Mary is, according to Catholic doctrine, the conception of the Virgin Mary without any stain (“macula” in Latin) of Original Sin. It is one of the four dogmas in Roman Catholic Mariology.

Under this aspect Mary is sometimes called the Immaculata (the Immaculate One), particularly in artistic contexts. The doctrine states that, from the first moment of her existence, Mary was preserved by God from the Original Sin and filled with sanctifying grace that would normally come with baptism after birth. Catholics believe Mary “was free from any personal or hereditary sin”.

Mary’s immaculate conception should not be confused with the Incarnation of her son Jesus Christ; the conception of Jesus is celebrated as the Annunciation to Mary. Catholics do not believe that Mary, herself, was the product of a Virgin Birth.

Dominican Republic is, is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etcetera. … Haiti is in desperate poverty. They need to have and we need to pray for them a great turning to God and out of this tragedy I’m optimistic something good may come. But right now we’re helping the suffering people and the suffering is unimaginable.”
