This new flick is directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), and in addition to Butler, also stars Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye) as Childers’ wife and Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road) as Childers’ best friend. It is set to hit theaters on September 23rd. Machine Gun Preacher is an upcoming action biopic about Sam Childers, a biker preacher-defender of Sudanese orphans. The movie was written by Jason Keller, directed by Marc Forster and stars Scottish actor Gerard Butler as Childers. Shooting began in June 2010 in Pennsylvania.

Parents’ Day is on Sunday, 24 July 2011 – In the United States, Parents’ Day is held on the fourth Sunday of every July. This was established in 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution into law (36 U.S.C. § 135) for “recognizing, uplifting, and supporting the role of parents in the rearing of children.” The bill was introduced by Republican Senator Trent Lott. The work of Alexander Calder, the American sculpture famous for inventing moving mobiles, has had his work celebrated with a Google doodle. Alexander Calder (July 22, 1898 – November 11, 1976) was an American sculptor and artist most famous for inventing the mobile sculptures. In addition to mobile and stable sculpture, Alexander Calder also created paintings, lithographs, toys, tapestry, jewelry and household objects.

Calder created a sculpture called WTC Stabile (also known as Bent Propeller), which in 1971 was installed at the entrance of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. When Battery Park City opened, the sculpture was moved to Vesey and Church Streets.[14] It stood in front of 7 World Trade Center when it was destroyed on September 11, 2001.

Calder died on November 11, 1976, shortly after opening a major retrospective show at the Whitney Museum in New York. He had been working on a third plane, entitled Salute to Mexico, when he died.

The Hobbit is an upcoming two-part epic fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson. It is a film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings, returns as director of the film and also serves as producer and co-writer.

The film will star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield. Several actors from Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings film trilogy will reprise their roles, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, and Orlando Bloom. Additionally, composer Howard Shore, who wrote the score for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, has confirmed his role in both parts of the film project.

The two parts, entitled The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, are being filmed back to back and are currently in production in New Zealand; principal photography began on March 21, 2011. They are scheduled to be released on December 14, 2012 and December 13, 2013, respectively.

Gregor Johann Mendel (July 20, 1822 – January 6, 1884) was a Czech-German Augustinian friar and scientist, who gained posthumous fame as the founder of the new science of genetics for his study of the inheritance of certain traits in pea plants. Mendel showed that the inheritance of these traits follows particular laws, which were later named after him. The significance of Mendel’s work was not recognized until the turn of the 20th century. The independent rediscovery of these laws formed the foundation of the modern science of genetics.

After Mendel completed his work with peas, he turned to experimenting with honeybees, in order to extend his work to animals. He produced a hybrid strain (so vicious they were destroyed), but failed to generate a clear picture of their heredity because of the difficulties in controlling mating behaviours of queen bees. He also described novel plant species, and these are denoted with the botanical author abbreviation “Mendel”.

Mendel died on January 6, 1884, at age 61, in Brno, Moravia, Austria-Hungary (now Czech Republic), from chronic nephritis. Czech composer Leoš Janáček played the organ at his funeral. After his death the succeeding abbot burned all papers in Mendel’s collection, to mark an end to the disputes over taxation.

The next night on Monday Night Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Mr. McMahon came out at the top of the program to address the WWE Championship issue. Just afterward, in an announcement presumably to follow through on the announced main-event stipulation that John Cena would be fired by Mr. McMahon, the storyline took an unexpected twist as HHH came out with an announcement of his own — that Mr. McMahon was being given a vote of “no confidence” by the (fictional) WWE Board of Directors, and that HHH would take on day-to-day operations of WWE, effectively firing McMahon instead. At this point, HHH refused to follow through with firing Cena, nullifying that stipulation.

It is heard that the director Christopher Nolan will be in India, Jodhpur to shoot “The Dark Knight Rises” with none other than Christian Bale.
